Marshall Farm

Today (Sunday the 14th) we went to Marshall Farm (www.MarshallFarm.com) in Fitchburg, MA...about 2 hours away from here. The Sharps and Laules were with us also.

After waking up at 4:30am, and being the little destroyer all morning, thankfully L zonked out on the way up and got in a good nap to keep his mood happy the rest of the day (He decided while Dan was at C-School a paci was needed again, so occasionally he'll get one if he asks for it)

Landon sporting his puppy hat/sweater.

Some of the animals

The big slides! The one is PVC pipes that would roll as you went down. L kept grabbing on and getting stuck so Dan ended up going with him.

This was for the goats...it was a series of ladders/platforms taking them over the slides area to another pen.

Landon Frankenstein

The Corn Maze

The pig racing (Landon loved it and was cheering)

Pumpkin Patch

There was also an apple orchard on the farm, but I only got a pic of Landon and Lilly chowing down on their apples and playing footsie while we picked some (we all ate one...don't worry, no pesticides/chemicals used there!)

Rides and play things

That should about do it for now. We brought the video camera but didn't get much taken on it. I'll battle through getting those up if they're worth it sometime soon.

Stickers....beans....and shoes!

Landon loves stickers. This past Friday he brought me a sheet of them and proceeded to put almost every single one somewhere on himself. There wasn't a memory card in the camera at the time so by the time I got one in there he was beginning to peel them off and stick them to other things.

Saturday with dinner we had some green beans. Landon wanted to help snap them...he ended up getting the yucky ones because he'd snap them all up and put every piece in the trash.

Landon loves shoes. Especially those a little too big for him!

Baby J's room progress

We're already making a bit of head-way on Jackson's room.

Friday night while Dan had duty I took on the task of getting the 3rd bedroom cleaned out. It had turned into a "I don't know what to do with this so lets put it in there" type of place. I also painted a wall just to get the feel of how it would be. We finished moving things out of it on Saturday during Landon's nap time and that afternoon did the tag-team once L woke up to finish painting.

The changing table (not pictured) is L's. It's going to get a spray of black. Planned on doing that today, but Mother Nature always seems to do on the cape it rained on the Monday of a long holiday weekend (made me thank my lucky stars I wasn't working and had to deal with that mess!) So hopefully next weekend the weather will cooperate and that can get painted.

We have 2 old nightstands (from when I was growing up) that Mom re-painted for me when I was at ERAU in my apartment...and they just happen to be black. We're for sure keeping one of them in there, not sure that there will really be room for the 2nd one. There's also a bookshelf (it's the folded up thing to the right of the crib in the pic) that we bought for L's room initially but have since gotten him a different set. If the space is available (J's room is itsy bitsy), we may paint that black also and put it in there. It's just hard to say right now what all is going to fit where.

We snatched the crib we were eyeing while Target had a 15% off furniture sale and free shipping. Today we went to Babies R Us to use a 15% off coupon on a crib mattress. While we were up that way we decided to hit up IKEA since it wasn't far away. I had previously checked out dressers on their site so we knew what we were looking for. On the way out we looking in their As-Is corner...and in there happened to be the dresser I really wanted, just before it was out of our price range. Not a thing wrong with it but it was missing packaging...and it was already put together! Plus it was 32% off which made it only $20 more than the one we were going to get. This one is actual wood compared to partical board too. The color is technically black-brown, but it looks close enough. Or if it bugs me I can always paint it easily. So after quite the ordeal of getting it in/on the car...and even more so of trying to leave IKEA, we made it home.

So here are some pics of how the pieces currently look. I've been working on a large painting (24"x48") to go above the crib. It's the same design as the blanket (stripes on the outside, blue on the inside...but no polka-dots) and then in the blue part I'll paint some wooden letters that spell out Jackson and put on there. Pieces aren't will they be staying (there's a twin bed in there right now that will be taken out eventually).

We've both decided it feels really good to be getting this much done this far in advance. We never had the opportunity to set up a nursery for Landon since we didn't even know where we'd be living until 2 1/2 weeks before he was born.

Mom...this one is so you can see how the paint color we picked out goes with the colors with them next to each other.

Videos will be coming...

While cleaning out Jackson's soon to be room, we stumbled across the long lost docking station for the video camera (the only way to upload to the comp)...so soon we'll start putting up vids here also.
